Book Review: The Law of Attraction in Action: A Down-to-Earth Guide to Transforming Your Life (No Matter Where You’re Starting From)

Book #8 of 52

The Law of Attraction in Action: A Down-to-Earth Guide to Transforming Your Life (No Matter Where You’re Starting From) written by Deanna Davis, PhD was the second book I read on Cruise 2012.

I hadn’t heard about the Law of Attraction (LOA) but the book looked interesting so I bought it.  Basically, LOA states that if we send out enough positive energy, everything will go our way.  Davis’ book gives a nice overview and lots of examples of the LOA.

Who Should Read This Book

This is a good book if you want to live your life hoping for the best and thinking happy thoughts.  It’s a lot like Joel Osteen’s watered-down sermons (“you are highly favored!”) combined with a generous helping of Eastern philosophy.  Personally, I subscribe to the philosophy of work hard, network well, and become an expert in your field to succeed in life.

My Final Thoughts

This was an interesting, somewhat entertaining read but in terms of substance, it’s like eating pork rinds and imagining you’re eating steak.  If you believe in the LOA, get it.  If not, leave it on the shelf….
